…transport across the North East.
Nexus is the Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Executive, which delivers and administers services on behalf of the Tyne & Wear Integrated Transport Authority. Amongst many of its services, Nexus owns and maintains the Tyne and Wear Metro, the North East’s rapid transit system; administers and manages the statutory and local concessionary travel schemes; manages and maintains bus stations/infrastructure/stops across the region and provides information on public transport services.
Hunter Johnstone has worked with Nexus on a number of different projects to encourage the public to use the Metro system and to ensure that the people across the North East were aware of a Winter price freeze and the many benefits and improvements that Nexus has delivered to bus users in Tyne & Wear.
Hunter Johnstone have produced a number of annual Great Days Out brochures which highlight all of the fantastic visitor attractions in Tyne and Wear that can be reached by Metro. We not only design and print the brochures but also successfully project manage the selling of advertising space to attractions, thereby raising additional income.
We also created the Better Bus Area Fund Marketing Campaign where Nexus communicated the specific benefits that have been delivered to bus users through a £5 million Better Bus Area Fund such as the installation of new shelters and extra CCTV cameras; refurbished bus stations; better bus service information provision through installation of NFC chips and QR codes at 6,000 bus stops plus free Wi-Fi on over 60 buses and in bus stations.
