The Malings is a new sustainable development in Newcastle’s historic Ouseburn Valley consisting of 76 low energy, eco-friendly homes. Hunter Johnstone are currently delivering a complete package of support to generate interest in and actual sales of the properties.
The Malings has been created by igloo Regeneration and Carillion, 2 multi award-winning companies sharing a passion to provide affordable homes in communities where people want to live and work. Both acknowledge the responsibilities they have for the Ouseburn Valley’s future and recognise that The Malings will be a catalyst for positive change in the area. Achieving the highest standards is mandatory.
As residents of the Valley ourselves, we understood the importance of making potential homeowners feel both welcome and proud by showing how they could become part of a truly groundbreaking community in the most vibrant part of the city. Long before construction work started, we featured the staff of the Valley’s bars, music venues and visitor attractions as integral characters of the launch activity. Their messages of welcome helped generate an impressive groundswell of interest without the need for a traditional media support budget.
Hunter Johnstone devised the name and logo for The Malings and created an impressive brochure, promotional leaflets, launch website, e-marketing and SEO programmes plus a presence at popular events, festivals and gigs. Before construction work had even begun, a large database of prospective buyers had been created without using any traditional media support.
On release, 19 of the first 30 properties were reserved in just 4 hours at a spectacular launch event. Today, only 4 properties remain for sale at The Malings and we are now ready to launch another residential complex on a second site within the Ouseburn.
